Fun Facts: Coach Shaine is a Grammy-nominated musician who has produced NBA talk shows for 3x NBA Champion/NBA agent BJ Armstrong, NBA player Ryan Hollins, SiriusXM NBA radio host Ric Bucher. Coach is also the Co-Founder at United We Cast Network.

Shaine Freeman - Head Coach/Exec. Director

Coach Shaine is the Head Coach of ATL Xpress 2024 and Exec. Director of PTR Allstars AAU Program.  As a certified USA Basketball Youth Coach and pro skills trainer he has 30+ years experience in the sport. A native of Peoria, Illinois, Coach Shaine is a former standout point guard who attended Peoria Manual High, Illinois Central College, and Bradley University. After his playing career was cut short due to injuries, Coach Shaine continued working out with a host of professional, collegiate, and elite high school athletes, including 2x NBA Champion & Golden State Warriors point guard Shaun Livingston, Israeli League Champion & Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Brian Randle, and former NY Knicks guard Frank Williams to name a few.

His desire is to teach student-athletes the fundamentals and elite skills of basketball, while helping them develop positive character traits. “I want to help every young player I coach develop the necessary skills they need to achieve greatness both on and off the court.” - Coach Shaine.

Vernell Jones - Assistant Coach/Assoc. Director
Vernell Jones is the Assistant Coach of ATL Xpress 2024 and Associate Director of PTR Allstars AAU Program.  A native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Coach Jones is a certified USA Basketball Youth Coach and has been involved in the game of basketball for over 20 years as both a player and coach.  His experience as a youth basketball coach spans 11 years and includes coaching stints with PTR Allstars AAU, TRU Elite AAU, Acworth Basketball, I-9 Basketball, Upward Basketball, and North Heights Recreation. His passion for teaching the fundamentals and team work skills of the game is only outmatched by his desire to see student- athletes learn lifelong lessons, and establish the kinds of relationships that help them become successful and productive adults.

PTR Allstars 2025, 11U/5th Grade Boys

Anthony Adams - Head Coach

Coach Anthony is the head coach of the PTR Allstars 2025 - 11U/5th Grade boys team. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Coach Anthony has been a Georgia resident since the age of 9.  He began developing his passion and understanding of the game of basketball as a young boy, and has been involved with the sport for nearly 20 years in a variety of capacities.

While coach is eager to begin his AAU basketball coaching career with PTR, this will not be his first coaching stint.  Prior to joining PTR, Coach Anthony spent time as a youth basketball coach and mentor with the YMCA, as well as with the Kennesaw State University men's basketball team as a team manager.

Coach Anthony holds a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management from KSU, and one of his main focuses as a head coach is to make sure that each kid (1) enjoys playing the sport, and (2) is developing the necessary fundamental basketball skills and personal character to help them become outstanding young men.  Coach Anthony sees PTR Allstars as a definite opportunity to accomplish these goals, and positively impact the youth.

Bryant Stewart - Assistant Coach

Bryant Stewart is the Assistant Coach of the PTR Allstars 2025 team. Coach Bryant was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, but raised in Kennesaw, GA.  Most recently, he spent time as a member of the Kell Longhorn youth program's coaching staff.  While this is his first season coaching AAU basketball, he has played for multiple AAU teams throughout the years, most notably for fellow Cobb County club, Team Impact, under Coach Walter Jordan.

In addition to his AAU experience as a student-athlete, Coach Bryant played high school basketball at Kell High School in Marietta, GA, before having a brief college basketball stint which ended as a result of knee issues.  In college, he majored in Early Childhood Education, so his passion to help children has always been there.  "I have a love for teaching children the game of basketball, while mentoring them about life.  I want to help mold today's youth into great people on and off the court."
